ENEC has launched an ambitious new set of safety standards designed to go beyond regulatory compliance and establish the company as an industry leader in nuclear safety. The standards cover every phase of the plant lifecycle, from design and construction through operations and eventual decommissioning.
The framework was developed in consultation with international safety organizations, regulators, and frontline operators, and builds on lessons learned from decades of global experience. Key features include enhanced probabilistic safety assessment requirements, a strengthened safety culture program, and expanded emergency preparedness protocols.
"Safety is not a compliance exercise — it is the foundation of everything we do," said Dr. Hans Mueller, Vice President of Safety. "These standards reflect our unwavering commitment to protecting our people, our communities, and the environment."
The new standards will be implemented across all current and future ENEC projects and shared with partners to elevate safety performance throughout the industry.
